When The Military Investigators Come Calling…™
You may be charged with:
A Military Crime (U.C.M.J.)
Most criminal statutes which fall under the jurisdiction of the military are codified under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). Any violation of a criminal statute under the UCMJ may render one a candidate for prosecution in a court martial, which may come in three different forms: (a) summary, (b) special, and (c) general. McNabb Associates, P.C. handles only those more serious cases which appear before a general court martial.
In addition to those crimes adjudicated by way of the U.C.M.J., the military is also involved in the detention of combatants, in times of war. Whether or not those combatants will be tried for criminal activity is to date unclear.
