intelligence operatives

Classification: Intelligence Operatives

Analytical Officer
One who analyzes raw intelligence by testing it with other known intelligence and investigatory information, and places it into context with a polished report for consumption by decision makers. Frequently analytical officers are tied to a particular geographic region or topic of interest (e.g. NBC proliferation, terrorism).

Agent/Asset
One who, though not officially working for an intelligence agency, works on behalf of an agency as a source for either information or provides material support to NOCs.

Non-Official Cover Officer (Otherwise Know as NOCs)
A clandestine covert operations officer posing as completely independent from the government for which they work, taking on false identities manufactured by their respective intelligence agency. These officers are most frequently used to provide the state plausible deniability in their operations, and their very existence is, at times, denied by the government for which they work. This is, without a doubt, the most dangerous of positions within the intelligence field.

Official Cover Officer
A clandestine covert operations officer posing as an agent of the government for which they work in a capacity other than intelligence related work. These officers generally use their real names, but manufacture a position at another government entity.
