Central Asian Security Pact (Tashkent Pact)

Signed in May of 2000 as an agreement to share intelligence and security information between member states, the Pact has become a cornerstone intelligence sharing agreement between the member states (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan). The Pact has been helpful, particularly in conjunction with the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), in combating transnational crime and international terrorism in the region, particularly in Uzbekistan.
