Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) Regional Forum (ARF)
Created in 1994 as a division of ASEAN, ARF member includes not only the ASEAN membership (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar/Burma, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam), but also ASEAN strategic partners (Australia, Canada, China, the European Union, India, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, Mongolia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Russia, and the United States). Member states work to exchange information and intelligence relative to transnational crime and international terrorism. In July of 2002, 10 ASEAN member states signed an agreement with the United States to enhance intelligence sharing operations relative to international terrorism.
