You might be targeted as an agent of a foreign power
An Agent of a Foreign Power is a term frequently used in legal parlance to refer to those individuals who act on behalf of a foreign government or terrorist organization against the United States. This may include anything from providing financial or material support to terrorism to conducting covert espionage operations. In a time of war these forms of action are sought out and penalized aggressively by every department of the government. The Department of Treasury (DOT), for example, maintains an extensive operation against terrorist financing, which following 9/11 has been given frequent and substantial boosts in resources and scope.
Because some direct action by agents of foreign powers tend to be of a far more aggressive nature, Congress has passed numerous and laws which enhance penalties for and provide law enforcement and the intelligence community significant resources and tools to fight terrorism.
